VO2 Testing

VO2 testing is the way to measure your cardio fitness and maximize your workouts.  "VO2" stands for "Volume of Oxygen" and it is the rate at which you consume oxygen.  The test is performed using a graded exercise test at various intensities either on a treadmill or a bike.

The results from the test can be used to pinpoint your target heart r ate for various workout zones.  These workout zones are highly individual and will allow you to exercise at a level that will maximize your fitness goal, such as fat burning, endurance training or cardio strengthening.

Testing is beneficial for individuals at almost any level of fitness.  Whether you are a beginner with the goal of losing weight or an elite triathlete trying to gain a competitive edge, you can get the most out of your workouts by knowing your heart rate training zones.
