Olivia "Liv" Bobbitt
Olivia “Liv” Bobbitt
is not your typical girl…she loves to fight! Karate is a
passion for her and she would do it 24/7 if possible.
Her ultimate goal is to become a professional martial
artist and she is taking the beginning steps to make
this goal a reality. Liv is currently 2nd in the nation
for female 18 yr old advanced (black belt) fighting 60+
kg in accordance with the USA-NKF (and USOC) official
standings in both open and elite divisions. Enroute, she
dominated all adult female kumite (fighting) in
regional competitions.
Liv trains at
Vanatta’s Institute of Karate in White House, TN under
karate-athlete program director Joe Valdez. Recently the
team participated in the USA Karate Nationals. This
event is hosted by the USA-NKF, which is the national
governing body of competitive sport karate as a member
of the U.S. Olympic Committee. There, Liv qualified for
the US National Team. This is the highest level
available in the sport and is equivalent to making the
US Olympic Team.
Next stop for Liv is
international competition at the Pan-Am Games in
Montreal, Canada, as a member of Team USA! With this
event on the horizon, Coach Valdez wanted to be precise
as possible with her training program and recently
contacted Endurance Geeks for VO2 testing to provide him
and Liv with some valuable training tools…Heart Rate
Training Zones, Anaerobic Threshold, and Maximum Heart
Rate.
It was no surprise,
but the test confirmed Liv was in superior condition and
she now has some valuable information to assist Coach
Valdez with her training.
Good luck Liv! Keep
on fighting! |
